Backstage at The Dartry Health Club – May 2018

As a premium operator we invest in our property, people and presentation. This gives you, ‘our member’s’ the peace of mind that you are consistently getting the highest quality service and products around. Over the past month we have held numerous training days for our staff, continued with club maintenance and invested in new equipment. Behind the scenes here at The Dartry Health Club on a monthly basis we are always working hard to give you the best member experience.

New equipment

Following feedback from our members we have decided to purchase some pieces of equipment. We’ve invested in a new Sports Art abdominal crunch machine. This is a terrific machine to add to your workout. You can concentrate on both your upper and lower abs and it is very easy to use. We have also purchased lighter power bands, studio barbell collars and lighter plates for the Olympic bar. These now come in weights of 0.25kg – 1kg

Maintenance

Throughout April we made a number of repairs and changes inside to the club. These included repairs to the sauna, lockers in changing rooms and some of the equipment on the gym floor. We also reset any loose cobbles at the entrance to the club. There are also plans to make repairs to the path at the entrance to the gym by Dublin City Council. This may result in the closure of the car park for 24 hours.

Kids swimming course

The new course for kids swimming is due to begin on May 15th. We have been taking payment since the start of May and spaces are limited. If you are interested in getting your child started you can book in with one of our trainers for a free consultation. Please ask at reception for further details or email fitness@thedartryhealthclub.ie.

New additions

I’d would like to wish Ewa all the best, she has gone on maternity leave for the next six months. Can’t wait to find out if it’s a boy or a girl.

We have hired two new staff members in April. We would like to give Dave and Ruben a warm welcome to the team. Dave has been General Manager a number of gyms throughout Ireland and I expect his experience will prove to be a great addition to the team and to the club. Ruben will be working at front of house and will also be part of our fitness team. Ruben is from Portugal and has been in Ireland for a number of years, having previously been a Store Manager in a number of Chopped restaurants and also a member in our sister club, 1escape.

Parking

We are in the very lucky position at The Dartry Health Club to be able to offer our members free parking both inside our car park and on the surrounding streets. We would kindly ask that our members ensure to be considerate when parking outside our neighbours houses and to not block them in or cause any obstruction.  We have received a few complaints recently which is disappointing as we strive to be a valued addition to our neighbourhood.

Finally, it is with great sadness that we learnt of the passing of one of our long standing members Barbara Eagar. We have all got to know Barbara very well over the years due to her dedication to keeping active in our group exercise classes.  Barbara was also our trainer Ian’s mother and we want to express our deepest condolences to Ian and his family at this exceptionally difficult time.

As always, I welcome your feedback and you can contact me in the club or by email sean@thedartryhealthclub.ie

Kindest regards,

Sean Gavin.
