Getting kids swimming lessons will give your child a skill that lasts a lifetime. Not only is a great pastime, but also provides many of us enjoyment. The Dartry Health Club in South Dublin, has teamed up with Swim Ireland to provide the highest standard of kids swimming lessons that are fun, safe & enjoyable. We are Conveniently located between the neighborhoods of Rathgar, Milltown and Rathmines. There are 8 levels in the program making The Dartry Health Club children’s swimming courses accessible to all ages and levels. Included with swimming lessons will be a full range of cloth badges and a full colour A4 certificate with your child’s name on it to congratulate and celebrate your children’s achievements with us.

What is the Swim Ireland programme?
The programme is called ‘Learn to Swim’ and has 8 levels to complete.

  • Learn to Swim Level 1

Introduces the young non swimmer to the water and establishes early floating and breathing techniques whilst being supported by an adult in the water.

  • Learn to Swim Level 2

The underwater environment is introduced with the Introduction to submerging whilst building on the swimmers confidence moving through the water.

  • Learn to Swim Level 3

Early stroke technique with beginner freestyle and backstroke, floatation skills, confidence underwater and on entering and exiting the water are progressed.

  • Learn to Swim Level 4

Introduction to different water skills including spatial awareness, and treading water. Breaststroke swimming stroke is introduced at this level.

  • Learn to Swim level 5

Basics of tumbling and streamlining are introduced as well as the fundamentals of swimming and kicking for a set distance.

  • Learn to Swim Level 6

Introduction to butterfly undulating action, building on their motor skills and strokes and general manoeuvrability through the water.

  • Learn to Swim Level 7

This level introduces early endurance swimming practices including a 50 metre swim and builds on personal safety skills in the water with ability in all four strokes.

  • Learn to Swim Level 8

Focus on rhythm to the stroke technique and builds upon skills learned in streamlining, sculling, kick and pull.
